SAMBA operates at the intersection of music, live entertainment and brand experiential — three sectors that are increasingly the same conversation. Built by entrepreneurs who have founded, scaled and exited businesses across all three, we bring proven experience, strategy, access to capital and the executional excellence to turn vision into results.
SAMBA was formed in 2019 by Dean James as a holding company for investments in the music and brand experiential industries. With deep operating experience across both sectors, we live and breathe the industries we target by operating within them.
In 2025, Dean expanded the business into advisory services for other companies wanting to target the music, live event and brand experiential industries. Together with senior advisors drawn from the heart of global music, film and content, SAMBA brings a depth of operating credibility that is rare in advisory.
Across London, Sydney and Los Angeles, we work with a select roster of founders, catalogue owners and operators at moments of consequence — fundraising, sale, strategic re-direction.

We make equity investments in brand experiential, live entertainment and music. We seek businesses built on strong management, an ace strategy and a defensible market position — particularly those operating where culture and commerce meet, where brands and artists are reaching the same audiences.
